Packets drop in Internet/WAN cause serious service degradation

Edge devices (routers) don't provide complete accountability to the packets either transmitted or lost in the WAN.

Typical routers cannot optimize traffic flow or react to changes in WAN conditions in real time.

NetEye can switche individual packets back and forth from a congested to a non-congested network in the order of msec and this drastically reduces packet drops. It measures the packet dealy and jitter on per application type basis and chooses the best rout possible in the order of msec window.


Our patent-pending technology keeps track of the “true available” WAN link bandwidth with byte level granularity in real time. Based on this analysis, we only allocate bandwidth to the data connections which is precisely available by the WAN in real time window thus minimizing the chances of packet loss. Multiple packets loss typically put a TCP data connection to legacy TCP’s “slow start” mode drastically effecting the application performance. Our technology ensures to virtually “fill up the pipe” and utilize all the available WAN bandwidth very quickly while maintaining a minimum risk for packet drops in the WAN.


The innovation embeded in NetEye architect can sustain communication links in ultra packet loss environments, e.g., in cellular or satellite communication networks. Typically, TCP based connections fail and cease communication in about 1-5% packet loss environments. With a built-in robust retransmission feature, NetEye can maintain TCP connections even in 80% packet loss environment and emulates a network condition for high level applications (http, ftp, etc) that there exists a “zero packet loss” network.


Although, Internet has become the backbone of business and personal data exchange, there are no effective means to gather real time performance data that can be used to analyze network performance and Quality of Service. As a result, bandwidth is not optimally or fully utilized across the network or on individual data links. Multimedia Applications, VOIP and video over IP are putting additional strains on networks, and require error-free transmissions. The real-time traffic are very sensitive to packet drops and transmission errors and a user can easily observer the degradation of QoS due to packet drops.


WAN optimization is a misnomer. WAN optimization companies attempt to accelerate applications by eliminating redundant transmissions, staging data in localcaches, compressing and prioritizing data, and streamlining chatty protocols. While these techniques can improve information delivery, but none addresses the fundamental problems of today's WANs: the inability to measure and utilize unused bandwidth in real time as link usage changes.No current solution solves the principal challenge for WAN networks: link usage changes dynamically, but there is currently no way to measure the unused bandwidth in real time.

NetCee’s solution dynamically measures each and every byte available in a WAN link and, in real time, uses every available byte of link bandwidth. Today’s edge devices (e.g. routers) lack the ability to optimize traffic flow to react to changing WAN conditions, and are unable to choose the best WAN links based upon service class (e.g. video, voice over IP, TCP, http) and real time performance parameters.  NetCee’s current product, the NetEye Model NE1GS, recognizes the service class of every packet, and independently routes each packet over the WAN links that best match the performance requirements of that packet in real time (milliseconds).
